A condo session, Machining Summit 2026

We learn by doing

You can listen to a podcast or watch a video any time. This week is for the conversation you can’t get from a screen. Everyone learns differently. Some topics you learn best by listening in, some by asking the question, some by saying what you think. All of it is taking part.

Sun Apr 11Arrive early. Shuttles from Reno and Bishop.
Mon Apr 12Ski if you’d like. Welcome reception, followed by the welcome dinner, followed by the networking reception.
Tue–Thu Apr 13–15Mountain mornings, afternoon sessions, evenings together. Thursday we ride the gondola for a finale at the summit.
Fri Apr 16Grab a coffee and hop on the shuttle home. Or stay another day.

Pick your six

  1. 1

    Pick your top six

Say yes to the sessions you most want to be in. Say yes to more if you like: your top six come first. Picks are not guaranteed.

  2. 2

    We build the agenda

From everyone’s picks, G28 builds the sessions and the agenda. Some sessions move to larger rooms. Some run more than once and stay small groups. We’ll try our best to get you all of your top six.

  3. 3

    Adjust your six

When the schedule is out, change your picks if you don’t like your agenda or change your mind.

In the coming weeks more sessions will be added.

Propose a session

Every session at the Summit is a conversation. Tell G28 the one you want to have, or the one you want someone to host.

We’re looking for experts from shops and vendors to host or join conversations on the following uncovered topics.

Automation
Lights-out pallet systems, cobots on the shop floor, and robots that learn by demonstration.
Machines and Tooling
Tool management and tool cribs, done-in-one 5-axis, feeds and speeds, coolant and chips, and buying your next machine with builders in the hot seat.
Quality and Compliance
In-machine inspection and probing, ITAR, CMMC and AS9100, and fixing bad prints.
Keeping Machines Running
Shorter repair waits and spare parts for older machines.
Running the Business
Exits, succession and private equity, tariffs, quoting that wins, breaking into defense work, and your first year owning a shop.
People
Pay, training and keeping machinists, and women in manufacturing.
Software and AI
AI in the shop office and choosing your ERP and MES.
